ØRGREEN X CASPER CHRISTENSEN
A CREATIVE COLLABORATION THAT HAS BEEN LONG IN THE making
A custom-made eyeglass frame, co-designed by Casper himself, marks a
personal and professional reunion that has been over twenty years in the making.
Some collaborations are strategic. Others are spontaneous. And then there are those that
that has been quietly underway for decades, without anyone really noticing
noticed it.
Casper Christensen and Henrik Ørgreen go all the way back to the beginning of
The 90s – before Ørgreen Optics was even founded. Back then,
Casper is already a rising star in Danish television and film, known for his role in
Far from Las Vegas, and he was often seen wearing sunglasses from the American
brands that Henrik's company represented. When Ørgreen Optics
was launched in the mid-90s as a sunglasses brand with large
ambitions, Casper was among the very first to wear our optical frames
publicly.
“Back then we were just some street boys who wanted to create a new
design brand from Denmark". Casper was already shaping his
own persona, and we connected immediately. It felt like we
were in the same phase of life – with the same drive to create something new.”
The years passed, but the mutual respect and creative connection remained. So

“In a world where everything feels like it's being torn apart,
roots matter,” says Casper Christensen. “Henrik and I share
something that goes deeper than a brand or a design – our relationship came
first. For me, the glasses became a signature, a way to stand out. I
proud that something as simple as wearing them can still move
boundaries.”
Together we set out to design a frame that reflects Casper's
personality – playful, confident and refined – and which at the same time maintains
firmly in Ørgreen's distinctive design DNA. The process began with
creative workshops in Ørgreen's studio, where we delved into materials,
silhouettes and moods. "We decided to work in acetate, which gave us
flexibility to work with both depth and courage,” says Henrik.
Ørgreen delved into the archives, refined the silhouette, played with
proportions and created something with personality. The final design is
sharp, but not noisy. Playful, but without trying too hard.
The result is more than a product. It is a story of friendship, shared
beginnings and mutual admiration – now shaped into something tangible.
“This frame is a reflection of both of us,” Henrik adds. “It’s serious and
fun. It's bold, but wearable. And it carries the spirit of two creative
paths that crossed early on and now meet again – with all the experience the years have gained
has given.”
